DGS is here to serve you and answer any questions you may have. DGS specializes in guitar lessons for kids – new students and inquiries are always welcome.

In-person studio guitar lessons are taught in San Diego. The school is located at 1224 N. Coast Highway 101, Encinitas, CA 92024; conveniently located to Cardiff by the Sea, Carlsbad, Del Mar, Escondido, Oceanside, Poway, Rancho Sante Fe, San Marcos, Solona Beach and Vista. Lesson are taught Monday through Saturday by appointment.

DGS teaches lessons like no other, in terms of achievement, ensemble and performance opportunities. The core lessons are designed for younger students, age 4 and up. In addition, the school offers lessons for older beginners and adults as well. All ages are welcome and encouraged to participate.

For over a decade many students of DGS have achieved excellence playing guitar through performances with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra, numerous competitions and festivals, state and nationwide.

The lessons combine a unique blend of traditional teaching in addition to the Suzuki Guitar Method. The Suzuki Method, a very popular approach for teaching music to young children, has been exceptionally pioneered through the extraordinary teaching approach of Craig Devine, founder and director of the DGS.

Mr. Devine teaches students a solid foundation in the fundamentals of music, technique and beautiful tone. The guitar lessons emphasize professionalism, personal discipline and responsibility from an early age. The lessons are designed to be fun and exciting progressing in a logical step by step sequential manner.
